Created in collaboration with author, artist & educator Benji Hart in partnership with Forward Together for the 2019 Trans Day of Resilience Art Project. This piece was created out of a shared need to see Black trans femmes as we are rarely depicted ; alive, sheltered, safe and loved. We Have Never Asked Permission creates a lineage of trans feminine joy and in a world where the average life span of Black Trans Women dwindles each year radially imagines a reality in which we all live to achieve grey hairs.
